The railway police have foiled a bid to uproot the railway track near Arifwala and arrested one of the miscreants who was identified as Ghulam Rasul Kharal of Arifwala.

"Two miscreants were opening the fish plates, pins, etc to dislocate a part of track, but policemen on patrol foiled their attempt. The miscreants tried to run away leaving their tools at site but policemen caught hold one of them with the help of villagers", said SSP Railway Multan Ahmed Mukhtar here on Monday.

He said that they were doing their work after midnight some three-km away from the railway station. There would have been a catastrophe had the train reached there after dislocation of a piece of track.
